Description Staff Accommodation Custodians ensure an exceptional experience for our staff members. Their duties include cleaning and maintaining washrooms, common areas, and assisting with room preparations during staff transitions. Custodians may also help with general repairs and maintenance.
This role involves physical demands such as manual labor, lifting, and carrying. Custodians collaborate closely with other team members, operating under the supervision of the Foreperson and reporting directly to the Staff Accommodation Assistant Supervisor.
Job Functions Provide excellent employee and guest service.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance activities to maintain overall cleanliness of washrooms, hallways, vacant rooms, and common areas in all staff accommodation buildings.
Responsible for garbage, recycling, and litter removal.
Assist with managing inventory of cleaning supplies.
Notify supervisor regarding the need for repairs. Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Requirements Effectively communicate and comprehend detailed instructions in English.
Passion for providing outstanding guest service.
Previous cleaning experience in a skilled cleaning workplace is considered an asset.
Previous repair/maintenance experience considered an asset.
Energetic, self-motivated, and a positive attitude.
Excellent time management, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail with the flexibility to shift focus based on need.
Additional Considerations
Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position requires the ability to stand, squat, bend, and lift for long periods of time.
This role may operate hand tools.
Custodians work in a remote, alpine environment, and at times independently. This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Employee Handbook, the HR Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
