The Business Development

Manager is tasked with enhancing the commercialization of intellectual property and supporting industrial interactions. Engage with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to advance Western’s reputation and outcomes in technology transfer. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement commercialization strategies for innovations
Negotiate licensing and development agreements with industry partners
Evaluate innovation disclosures and manage patent processes




Identify funding prospects for prototypes and spin-offs
Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and industry Requirements:
Master’s degree in Engineering or Science required
5 years of business development experience in technology transfer
Knowledge of patenting and licensing processes
Solid communication and project management skills
Experience in academic and private sector interactions Drive innovation and strengthen industry ties at Western University's research initiatives in engineering and sciences.
