Become part of the University of Toronto’s vibrant academic community as an Assistant Professor specializing in Global Anglophone Literature. This full time position focuses on creative research and teaching at the St. George campus.

The Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites candidates for a tenure stream appointment starting July 1, 2027. Applicants should hold a PhD in English or a closely related field with expertise in South Asian, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, and/or Black Diasporic Literature. Candidates should also be familiar with areas like creative writing and digital humanities to enhance departmental strengths.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct innovative and team-oriented research
Maintain an externally funded research program




Deliver exceptional teaching across courses
Contribute to departmental service activities
Engage in scholarly presentations and publications Requirements:
PhD in English or a related discipline
Established research and teaching excellence
Strong publication record in top-ranked journals
Experience in relevant fields of literary study
