We invite applications for the temporary position of:
- 1.0 FTE Grades K-12 Careers Support Teacher
- Located in the Comox Valley
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge, experience and abilities in the following:
- Liaising with outside and inside groups and agencies such as Skills Canada, Industry sector and employer groups
- Organizing and running district Careers events
- Supporting student transition and teacher knowledge for Work Experience (WEX)
- Supporting career awareness opportunities with students, parents and employers
- Networking and recruiting employers
- Applying for available grants and managing program budgets under the direction of the program administrator
- Maintaining and increasing awareness and knowledge of dual credit and career-related programs, courses, and events
- Providing guidance and curriculum support for Applied Designs, Skills and Technologies (ADST) curriculum K-12
- Promoting,
developing and supporting elementary school initiatives in Career pathways and Trades
- Maintaining and supporting database for Careers Curriculum
- Fostering community partnerships with employers, and the community

As lifelong learners themselves, our educators embrace diversity, apply assessment for learning approaches, and integrate technology in meaningful ways to personalize learning. Successful candidates will demonstrate a willingness to embrace and share the district’s commitments outlined above and model its principles in their practice.
