We are seeking a Privacy Specialist with a legal background to work for one of our clients within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working with companies that have a substantial data footprint and will be adept at both legal and operational tasks within a privacy office workplace.
Develop and update privacy policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to evaluate and mitigate data-related risks.
Review and negotiate contracts with a focus on privacy and data protection clauses.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement privacy initiatives and ensure ongoing compliance.
Education/Work Experience
Law degree a must
Legal background with experience in privacy and data protection.
Previous 3-5 years experience in a privacy office handling both legal and operational responsibilities.
Privacy operations experience with companies who have a multi-jurisdictional and mostly employee and investor related personal information risk profile / footprint.
Experience with laws like GDPR, Privacy Act, US CCPA, Hong Kong Privacy Ordinance is desired.
Technical Skills
Familiarity with data security technologies and practices.
Other Skills
Bilingual is an asset
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Ability to communicate complex privacy concepts clearly and concisely.
