PURPOSE OF THE JOB Under the supervision of the Manager, Technical Design and Standardization, the incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of garment construction. The incumbent will be responsible for producing technical drawings and specifications for style development, evaluating samples, and preparing and sending reports outlining improvements to be made by factories through to the production stage.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
- Prepare the working files for suppliers with PLM in the form of "Tech pack", create with Ilustrator the technical drawings black and white, interior and exterior, front and back with seams, finishing technique and construction necessary;
- Ensure that the information is complete for the development of styles for the obtaining of prices with our suppliers;
- Measure and evaluate the quality of the styles under his/her responsibility;
- Prepare fitting sessions with team members;
- Communicate with suppliers about corrections, fittings and quality;
- Communicate internally any changes or quality issues during development;
- Participate in collection presentation meetings to start the styles under his/her responsibility;
- Provide technical support for other team members as needed;
- Work closely with the purchasing and design teams, while ensuring that the style direction matches the products purchased;
- Maintain up-to-date documents concerning the standards as well as the quality standards established by the company.
REQUIREMENTS
- College diploma in fashion design or equivalent;
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience;
- In-depth knowledge of structured garments for women and men; knowledge of swimwear is an asset;
- Knowledge and relevant experience in pattern and gradation;
- Bilingualism essential in writing (English and French) and basic functional English to speak it (The person will have to interact with suppliers from outside Canada);
- Knowledge of basic Illustrator software, PLM desired and Microsoft;
- Sense of organization, respect for deadlines, meticulousness and autonomy. Permanent, Full time
