The OCSB is currently seeking a Library Technician. The possible work addresses for this position can be found in our school directory.
Job Description: Operates the school Learning Commons and provides services in an automated/digital setting to meet the needs of staff and students;
Promotes authors, books, literacy, technology and holds special events;
Performs administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school;
Coordinates volunteers’ activities;
Performs other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Degree/diploma in relevant field (i.e. Library Technician, Information Science, etc);
2 years of related experience;
Expertise with Insignia (or similar library software systems), Google Suite, Computer hardware and software, mobile technology, various AV equipment;
Comfortable learning and promoting new technologies (3D printing, robotics, coding, Cricut, etc.);
Positive team player and ability to work independently;
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered;
The use of a personal vehicle may be required.
Status: Casual Library Technicians must be available to work on call during regular school hours.
Annual (or Hourly) Salary: Hourly wage of $32.64 plus 4% in lieu of vacation.
