Responsibilities Oversee Maintenance Department Supervisors for Cable, Testing & Inspection, Maintenance, and Grip operations, ensuring equipment readiness, regulatory compliance, quality standards, and support for Film & TV production requirements.
Maintain inventory accuracy through the RTPro repair module.
This includes all incoming and outgoing equipment as it flows through both the Electronics and Maintenance department while properly documenting all repairs for efficient equipment tracking.
Monitor completed Loss and Damage information paperwork as well as photographs of all damages. Once confirmed all complete, paperwork is sent to the department manager for pricing and distribution to production representatives.
Evaluate lost or damaged Film & TV equipment and provide Customer Service Representatives with accurate pricing for repairs, replacements, parts, and labor, supporting effective customer service and asset recovery efforts.
Oversee the processing of equipment to ensure it is completed in a safe and efficient manner to manufacturer's specifications.
Assist in supervising the Electronics Technicians by organizing and directing the operation and workflow of the Electronics department.
Understands the operation of hand tools and small power tools, including protected practices, application, and function.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the operation, function, application, and safe handling of hand tools and small power tools, ensuring compliance with company policies and workplace safety requirements.
Advise and mentor staff on the diagnosis and resolution of electrical and mechanical failures, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are effectively executed.
Maintain regular communication with the Inventory Manager regarding unresolved issues, inventory discrepancies,
and potential challenges that could affect inventory integrity, utilization, or business operations, while recommending appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to secure specialized parts and materials required for the repair and maintenance of Film & TV lighting, grip, power, and production equipment, ensuring equipment readiness and customer satisfaction.
Advise the Client Services Supervisor of equipment damage, failures, or operational issues resulting from improper use, ensuring timely corrective action and supporting the safe and effective use of Film & TV lighting, grip, and power equipment.
Evaluate Film & TV equipment inventories to identify assets approaching the end of their useful life, considering age, condition, manufacturer support, and parts availability, and recommend retirement or replacement to maintain fleet quality and reliability.
Provide technical support and consultation to departments across the organization, leveraging expertise in Film & TV equipment and operations to resolve issues, improve processes, and support customer and production requirements.
Re-training on current and future generations of lighting equipment required from time to time. Subsequent schooling on Electrical/Electronic theories will be required.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with vendors to support supply chain security, risk mitigation, and operational continuity.
Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to test and assess emerging lighting technologies, ensuring Sunbelt Rentals Film & TV remains at the forefront of industry innovation and production requirements.
