L.B. Foster seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to enhance its Friction Management division by designing robust train-mounted solutions. This role emphasizes both mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware.

As part of L.B. Foster’s purpose-driven team, you'll develop and validate designs for complex systems that address railroad infrastructure challenges. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and relevant experience in design, specifically within the railroad sector. You'll apply your skills in CAD and contribute to field implementations and system assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create mechanical designs for customer projects
• Perform design validation with prototyping and assessments




• Develop specifications and manufacturing drawings
• Oversee QA during production
• Coordinate field trials and installations

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related discipline
• 2 to 4 years in mechanical design, railroad experience a plus
• EIT with EGBC or eligible for registration
• CAD proficiency, SolidWorks is preferred
• Ability to travel approximately 25%
