The incumbent ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.Depending on operational needs, the incumbent also performs various inspections, coordinates hazardous waste management, and participates in rail track maintenance.Mandatory travel to Drummondville Quebec for training, possibly 2-3 trips between date of hire until January of 2027. Employees will work/ train in Quebec for 2 weeks, and then return home for 2 weeks (off)THE CHALLENGES WE HAVE FOR YOUPrimary Responsibilities – Unloading OperatorUnload (transfer) liquid raw materials from railcars, tanker trucks, and totes, and manage inventory transactions in the computer system, including submitting requests to CN (Canadian National Railway).Plan unloading operations in collaboration with the Buyer and the Production Department.During the winter season, ensure the proper operation of the steam generator.Perform maintenance of the rail track.Manage the disposal of hazardous materials and polyisocyanurate dust residues.Perform railcar movements in partnership with a trained and authorized employee.Operate crane / forklifts to unload chemical totes.Provide training to employees, as required,
to ensure work is performed safely.Perform any other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.Recommend improvements to optimize production activities and workplace health and safety.Secondary ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly inspections of:Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs); Spill response kits; Stored hazardous materials; Pentane system.Perform weekly inspections of:Boilers and Dosimetry equipment; Regulatory labels.Submit requests to waste management for hazardous waste collection when required (minimum of 4 to 6 totes and 5 or more drums).Clean and maintain the rail track and surrounding work area.Coordinate with the Shipping Department for the pickup of empty totes and drum pallets when sufficient quantities have accumulated.THE SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FORYour EducationHigh School Diploma (Secondary V) or equivalent work experience.Your Knowledge and SkillsSafe operation of a forklift.Training related to rail track operations and locomotive (trackmobile/railcar mover) operation.Basic computer skills.Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.Hazardous materials handling training (asset).HAZMAT spill response training (asset).Ability to understand and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) (asset).Your Skills and CompetenciesAbility to work independently.Robust organizational skills.Flexibility and adaptability.Team-oriented attitude.Ability to learn computer systems quickly.Attention to detail and accuracy.Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.Your Working ConditionsSafety glasses, safety boots, and hearing protection (inside the plant) must be worn at all times.Frequent exposure to changing weather conditions, as most duties are performed outdoors.Regular handling of hazardous materials.Required use of personal protective equipment (respirator with chemical cartridges, gloves, and protective suit) when handling certain chemicals.Occasional work at heights requiring the use of a fall protection harness.Flexible schedule requiring a 40-hour work week.Physical RequirementsGood physical condition with the ability to occasionally lift and handle heavy loads.Ability to stand for extended periods, as most duties are performed while standing.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
