Sr. Manager, Accounting & Business Systems
Accounting, Administration, Cost Controls & Workflow Digitization
Reporting to CEO | Full Time | $100,000-$130,000+ depending on experience
Build the Accounting and Business Systems Behind a Growing Manufacturing Company
Dynamix Agitators Inc. designs and manufactures industrial mixing systems used across North America and internationally. We are a profitable, growing manufacturer with a strong opportunity to improve how accounting, cost controls, workflows, reporting, and business systems support the company.
We are hiring a Sr. Manager, Accounting & Business Systems to help build an efficient, reliable operating system for the business.
We need a hands‑on accounting and business systems leader who can manage administration and accounting workflows, coordinate with external accountants, support cost and budget discipline, and use technology to make the business more organized, visible, and scalable.
The Mission
Your mission is to make accounting, administration, cost controls, and business workflows more reliable, standardized, and useful to management.
You will help create a business system where:
business cases are prepared before important decisions are made;
key workflows are documented, standardized, and followed;
managers have better visibility into budgets, costs, and operating results;
external accountants are properly supported;
technology and automation are used practically to reduce manual follow-up and improve control.
What You Will Lead
Accounting & Administration Controls
accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight;
invoicing, payment follow-up, credit controls, and payment‑term discipline;
payroll coordination and related administration;
GST/PST, WorkSafeBC, EHT, benefits, and other compliance administration;
coordination with the external accountant;
internal controls appropriate for a growing manufacturing company.
You do not need to personally perform every transaction, but you must be accountable that the work is done correctly, consistently, and with proper follow‑up.
Business Systems,
Workflow & Digitization
ERP and accounting system improvements;
workflow mapping and SOP development;
AI‑assisted reporting, documentation, meeting follow‑up, data review, and process control;
dashboards, checklists, recurring reports, and management review routines;
practical automation that reduces manual chasing and improves accuracy.
We value someone who sees technology as a way to make the business cleaner and more controlled, not as technology for its own sake.
Cost Controls, Business Cases & Decision Support
budgeting and forecast support;
helping managers understand and manage their budgets;
margin and cost visibility;
grant tracking and reporting support;
practical analysis for operational and system investments.
The right person should be able to take an unclear business question and turn it into useful analysis, next steps, and follow‑through. This role requires respectful firmness. You must be comfortable asking managers practical questions about costs, timing, assumptions, and follow‑through.
Manufacturing, Costing & Operational Visibility
job costing support;
quote‑to‑actual analysis;
engineering and manufacturing cost visibility;
inventory and cycle‑count controls;
margin‑impacting workflow gaps;
sales order, shipping, and invoicing process controls.
You do not need to be a manufacturing engineer, but you should understand that weak systems, poor data, unclear ownership, and missed follow‑up create real cost.
What Success Looks Like
Accounting and administration workflows are clearer, cleaner, and more reliable.
External accountant coordination is organized and proactive.
Key workflows are documented and followed.
Managers have better budget and cost visibility.
Business cases are created before major decisions are made.
Cost controls and reporting are more practical to management.
ERP, workflow, and reporting improvement priorities are defined.
AI, automation, or digital tools are being used practically where they reduce manual work or improve control.
The CEO is less involved in chasing administration, accounting, cost follow‑up, and business reporting.
Who You Are
an accounting manager, controller, finance manager, business systems manager, or operations‑minded accounting leader;
strong in accounting operations, administration controls, and follow‑through;
comfortable working with external accountants rather than needing to personally own every technical accounting issue;
systems‑minded and interested in workflows, automation, digitization, dashboards, and AI;
able to standardize messy processes and make people follow them;
capable of building business cases and cost‑benefit analysis;
comfortable working with managers on budgets, spending, and cost accountability;
practical, organized, direct, low‑ego, and hands‑on;
interested in manufacturing, engineered products, and how cost moves through an operating business.
Helpful Experience
Manufacturing, distribution, construction, equipment, project‑based, or owner‑managed business experience
ERP, workflow, dashboard, automation, or business systems improvement
Job costing, product costing, inventory, WIP, margin, or cost‑control exposure
Business case development and cost‑benefit analysis
Working with managers on budgets, KPIs, forecasts, or operating results
External accountant / CPA coordination
Power BI, advanced Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, AI tools, or similar systems
CPA/CMA/CGA or equivalent accounting depth is preferred, but not the only path. We are especially interested in candidates who combine accounting discipline with business systems, workflow improvement, cost control, and practical management support.
