Position Title: Company Security Officer (Canada)
Location: Ottawa, ON
Clearance Required: Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret
Reports To: U.S. Facility Security Officer, Compliance & Data Protection
Position Summary The Company Security Officer (Canada) & Director, Legal & Compliance is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all Canadian federal contract requirements, security regulations, and industrial security obligations. This role oversees various internal compliance programs, supports government contracting activities, and leads all aspects of the Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Contract Security Program (CSP) .
The position ensures that the organization meets its obligations under the Policy on Government Security , Security of Information Act , and other federal directives related to the protection of sensitive or classified information and assets.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Company Security Officer & Director, Legal & Compliance to join our Legal & Compliance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the business in navigating complex regulatory environments, conducting internal investigations , and executing compliance monitoring and testing . This role is critical to maintaining Gartner's reputation and operational integrity globally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES I nvestigate matters that represent operational, reputational, or legal risk to Gartner and its brand and elevate as needed.
Collaborate with other team members across the globe on projects and initiatives through transparent and proactive communication to improve Gartner's processes, policies, and training, with a focus on conflicts of interest , ensuring compliance with lobbying regulations , and support ing efforts related to regulatory compliance .
Conduct compliance monitoring and testing.
Conflicts of Interest Ensure conformity with the Gartner Conflicts of Interest Policy by responding to queries and allegations submitted to the COI Resource Center regarding actual and perceived Organizational Conflicts of Interest.
Compliance Monitoring & Testing Help with the risk-based expansion of the anti-bribery monitoring and testing program.
Analyze and d ocument results of monitoring and testing and conduct required follow-up .
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions resulting from monitoring and testing activities .
Support the analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of anti-bribery controls and recommend improvements.
Prepare metrics and reporting resulting from monitoring and testing activities.
Government Contract Compliance Advise on requirements outlined in federal procurement contracts, including security, reporting, financial, and performance clauses and policies regarding same .
Support internal processes to ensure compliance with Treasury Board policies, PSPC contracting requirements, and departmental security standards.
Conduct internal investigations, reviews, and compliance audits to identify and resolve gaps.
Serve as the primary liaison with contracting authorities and federal oversight bodies.
Support bid teams by identifying and validating security and compliance requirements during proposal development.
Lobbying Compliance Support compliance with North American lobbying regulations.
Train business stakeholders on obligations.
Industrial Security Leadership (Canada) Serve as Gartner's Company Security Officer ( C SO) in Canada under the PSPC Contract Security Program.
Manage all requirements related to: Designated Organization Screening (DOS)
Facility Security Clearance (FSC)
Personnel Screening (Reliability, Secret, Top Secret)
Safeguarding requirements for classified information and assets
Maintain accurate records in the Online Industrial Security System (OLISS).
Oversee secure facility zones, access controls, and protection of hard‑copy and electronic classified information
Global Industrial Security Supports the U.S. FSO in ensuring global industrial se curity officer s are compliant with regional government security regulations.
Assists with reviewing regional government security polic ies and regulations, analyzing gaps in regional security programs for non‑compliance, and developing corrective action plans to ensure c ompliance .
Conducts annual regional industrial security policy reviews, ensuring policies and trainin gs meet all security requirements prior to implementation.
Assist with annual internal security audits of regional security programs to ensure fully compliant with all requirements.
Industrial Security Incident & Risk Management Lead investigations and reporting of industrial security incidents, suspected compromises, and breaches of security protocols.
Maintain industrial security incident response procedures in alignment with federal reporting obligations.
