Khalsa Secondary School is seeking candidates for one Secondary School Applied Design Skills for our Sikh faith - based school located on 10589 124 Street. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Teachers from all diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We are an a IB MYP authorized World School and an AP Level 2 school. We are a growing school with a lot of opportunities! Our teachers are supported and have a prep in each semester.

Currently, we have one Secondary School Applied Design Skills teacher opening for September 1,2026.

We recognize North American teaching experience.

Secondary School Applied Design Skills
Start Date: September 1,2026

ADST Entrepreneurship and Marketing 8 - 3 block
ADST Food Studies 8 - 3 blocks
ADST Food Studies 9- 1 block
ADST Visual Arts 9- 1 block
Business Ed 8
Photography 8

Salary: Starting salary for a CoQ teacher is $6600 per month.

*Other salary benefits are available for this position
*This salary is only offered to Certificate of Qualification teachers or teachers who have a completed application with the Teacher Certification Branch (BC) for a CoQ
**Teaching experience from within Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting
salary for CoQ teachers

Duties
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum
Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment




Assess student progress and provide feedback
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events

Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
BC teaching certification
Proven experience related subjects (preferrable)
Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively
Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles

Skills
Proficient in proofreading educational materials
Classroom management expertise
Effective communication and writing skills
Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus
Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently
