Reporting to the Director Finance, Assistant Controller you will lead a team responsible for providing accurate and timely consolidation of the Company’s external IFRS financial statements, consolidated internal management reports, and legal entity reporting. You will partner with our tax, treasury, operations, and investor relations teams to lead the quarterly reporting process for financial statements and MD&A; learn our business and sharpen your skills for continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES: External Financial Reporting Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, notes disclosures, and sections of the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A;) in collaboration with Treasury, Tax and Investor Relations teams. Ensure compliance with IFRS, securities regulations, and public company reporting requirements. Review earnings release support materials and financial information included in investor and Board reporting packages. Technical Accounting & Internal Reporting Review entries and underlying support for technical accounting areas of the business including leases, co-manufacturing, intercompany eliminations and provisions. Supervise the preparation of annual legal entity statements to support tax filings. Participate in supporting business decisions with ad-hoc analysis as required. Audit, Internal Controls & Regulatory Compliance Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Coordinate audit requests, ensure timely completion of deliverables, and resolve audit issues. Maintain and enhance disclosure controls and financial reporting processes. Support the design, documentation, and testing of key controls over financial reporting. Process Improvement & Leadership Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Mentor and develop a team of 4 financial analysts and senior financial analysts. Contribute to special projects, acquisitions, financing activities, and other strategic initiatives as required. REQUIREMENTS: CPA designation 8–10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience. Experience in public company reporting, either in industry or public accounting. Experience managing external audits and working with senior stakeholders. Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of IFRS and financial statement disclosure requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with SAP, BPC, Workiva, or similar reporting and consolidation platforms considered an asset. Experience with financial reporting automation and process improvement initiatives. Strong project management and organizational skills.
