Okanagan Waldorf School seeks a dedicated Grade 8 teacher who thrives outdoors, promoting inquiry-based learning. This permanent role offers a unique 0.8 FTE opportunity for the 2026/27 school year.
This position is ideal for a creative educator holding a Waldorf Certificate or valid BC Teaching certificate. With a preference for candidates with 3-5 years of class teaching experience, you'll support a diverse student body while engaging actively with faculty and parents. Classroom management and robust interpersonal skills are vital for thriving in this collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement inspiring Grade 8 lessons
• Engage in regular staff and departmental meetings
• Collaborate on festival planning and committee work
• Compose detailed student reports and conduct parent meetings
• Foster a respectful and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Requirements:
• Minimum 3-5 years of teaching in a Waldorf program
• Certification under BC Teachers Regulation an asset
• Successful Criminal Record check
• Commitment to outdoor teaching environments
• Capacity to lift weights up to 75 lbs
