POSITION: Junior School Teacher
ASSIGNMENT: Social Studies, English, Career Education (Gr 8-9) This position would be English 8 or English 9 or both, Social Studies 8, Social Studies 9 or both as well as Careers 8. Careers can be taught in cross-curricular manner. This position would be scheduled as an entire day, once a week.
FTE: 0.2
LOCATION: Quesnel Junior School
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2026 until June 30, 2027, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent, with the possibility of reduction in FTE.
A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

Training Specialization:

Secondary Education with major/minor inSocial Studies

Secondary Education with major/minor inEnglish

Related Teaching Experience:
Recent successful experience teaching at thejunior schoollevel

A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development,



and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

Additional Qualifications:

Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level inSocial Studies

Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level inEnglish

Other:

Commitment to the house-based team structure

There is an expectation to contribute to whole-school initiatives related to our school growth plan goals

Willingness to collaborate with department colleagues, and build upon practices that support all learners

The annual salary for the full time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
