Join Qalipu First Nation as a Community Education Outreach Officer in Gander, Newfoundland, and play a key role in fostering Indigenous education. This position involves developing and delivering educational programs for youth.
You’ll be responsible for implementing the Education Outreach and Outdoor Education Programs, managing community engagement sessions, and assisting in cultural education initiatives. This temporary position lasts until March 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension. Collaboration with the management team is crucial for sourcing funding for new projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support delivering the Education Outreach Program activities
• Facilitate outdoor education instructions and supervision
• Organize community engagement and educational events
• Write reports on program initiatives and outcomes
• Promote projects enhancing the Mi'kmaq heritage
Requirements:
• Completion of a minimum two-year diploma
• At least one year of relevant program experience
• Experience with Indigenous communities and programming
• Robust organizational and communication skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license
