The Faculty of Arts in the Department of Sociology invites applications for part-time roles as Teaching Assistants or Seminar Leaders starting in January 2027. Responsibilities include facilitating tutorials, preparing instructional materials, and marking student assignments. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and a genuine understanding of student challenges to enhance the academic workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate tutorial or seminar discussions effectively
• Attend course-related meetings with faculty and staff
• Grade student submissions and provide constructive feedback
• Hold regular office hours for student consultations
• Support in adapting materials for diverse learning needs
Requirements:
• Relevant academic background in sociology or related fields
• Experience or interest in teaching and tutoring
• Proficient in English for instructional purposes
• Understanding and empathy in addressing student needs
• Compliance with work permit regulations for international students
