What You'll Do
Lead the Upstream, Midstream and Corporate Compensation Advisory function by providing consultative guidance to HRBPs, business leaders, and cross-functional partners on compensation programs, pay decisions, job evaluation, and reward governance
Partner with compensation advisors and analysts by setting priorities and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality advisory support
As a member of the Compensation leadership team, develop and translate enterprise compensation strategy, philosophy, and governance standards into practical guidance, tools, and business recommendations
Advise HRBPs and leaders on compensation-related decisions by applying market data, internal equity, pay transparency principles, business context, and established governance frameworks
Provide advisory support for annual compensation processes, including merit, short-term incentive, long-term incentive, promotion, retention, and other pay planning activities
Lead and support job evaluation, leveling, pay range interpretation, and compensation structure guidance to ensure consistent application across functions, geographies, and employee populations
Analyze compensation trends, market insights, workforce data,
regulatory developments, and internal program outcomes to identify risks, opportunities, and recommendations that support talent and business objectives
Oversee complex compensation inquiries, escalations, and exception requests, ensuring decisions are well-documented, equitable, compliant, and aligned with Nutrien's reward philosophy
Collaborate with Executive Compensation, HRBPs, HR Operations, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated compensation solutions and consistent employee experiences
Develop advisory resources, decision guides, process documentation, communications, and education materials that enable consistent compensation consultation and effective change management
Lead Compensation Advisory projects and process improvements that enhance governance, service delivery, stakeholder experience, operational effectiveness, and ethical decision-making
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
10+ years progressive compensation experience or related HR experience serving at least 4 years in a leadership position
Excellent understanding in all areas of compensation, including job architecture, short and long-term incentive plan administration and financial acumen
Experience with HRIS systems, benchmarking and compensation systems
Knowledge of relevant US, Canada Federal, State/Provincial, Local laws/regulations related to compensation
Excellent analytical and mathematics skills
Strong Excel skills and proficient in MS Office Suite
Ability to utilize consultative expertise and practical insights to shape and drive effective compensation programs and recommendations, demonstrating leadership and influence across all organizational levels
