Empower diverse learners as a Grade 8-12 Learning Support Teacher with School District 71. This temporary role focuses on supporting students with learning challenges and facilitating inclusion.
You will work closely with classroom teachers to identify and assess students with low incidence challenges, behavioral issues, and learning disabilities. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (I.E.P.s), providing direct remedial instruction, and collaborating on instructional modifications to enhance learning for each student.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with diverse special needs
• Assist in developing Individual Education and Learning Plans
• Provide direct remedial instruction in reading and math
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional content
• Case manage student learning and behavior supports
Requirements:
• Degree in Special Education preferred
• Experience in secondary teaching and curriculum
• Ability to administer Level B assessments
• Familiarity with educational software like Kurzweil
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
