Join Our Team as a Training & Development Co-op Student at Johnson Electric!

As our next Training & Development Co-op Student, you'll play a key role in supporting employee training and development across our Ancaster facility. Working closely with operators, supervisors, engineers, and subject matter experts, you will help develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions (SWIs), training materials, and documentation that promote safety, quality, consistency, and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for manufacturing, administrative, and training processes.
- Partner with operators, supervisors, engineers, and subject matter experts to document standard work and best practices.
- Observe job tasks and production processes to accurately capture step-by-step work instructions.
- Ensure all training documentation aligns with safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Create and update supporting training materials and resources.
- Track training completion records and support updates within the ETQ system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on training effectiveness and documentation quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
Education and/or Experience
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program.
Experience (preferred but not required):
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality environment is an asset.
- Experience creating or updating documentation, work instructions, training materials, or process maps is preferred.
Language Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization, including shop-floor personnel and leadership
Work Setting (including Physical Demands):
- Combination of office and production floor environments.
- May require standing, walking, or working near machinery.
- Production areas can be noisy and subject to varying temperatures.
- Must follow all Health & Safety guidelines and wear required PPE when on the production floor.
- Occasional overtime or flexible hours may be required.
