­Lead Hydro Plant Operator

­GENERAL DUTIES:

Operates and performs regular inspections of generation, transmission and distribution facilities; identifies and reports deficiencies; issues work clearances and prepares, checks, issues and when necessary carries out switching orders; performs trend monitoring on generating equipment; prepares daily production reports; maintains the station log and completes reports on plant operations and anomalies. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.

Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

­REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation supplemented with a journeyperson certificate as a Power System Operator through the Corporation's Apprenticeship program.



Must possess two (2) years experience operating in a multi unit hydro plant of at least 450mw. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
