Definition of Work:
This is skilled or advanced work at the journeyperson level in several building trades. The duties will include the maintenance and repair of building systems, mechanical equipment and any general maintenance related duties as requested. Travel within the region to perform maintenance related duties may be required. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:




• Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
• Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate in Millwright and Plumbing/Steam pipefitting, or equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of and qualified to work with mechanical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, energy management systems such as high pressure steam, medical gas and known hazardous energy sources, maintenance, repairs and installation of medical device repossessing, dietary and laundry equipment.
• Valid Class V Driver’s License issued by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and a clear driver’s abstract from Motor Vehicle Registration.
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
• A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
