Position Summary
The Local Dispatcher is responsible for the daily coordination of transportation operations in the Greater Montréal area. The role ensures smooth vehicle movements, effective inventory management at rail sites, and ongoing communication with drivers and internal stakeholders to guarantee efficient and timely deliveries.

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a reliable and well‐organized professional who is comfortable with an early‐morning schedule and enjoys working autonomously and proactively.
Diploma in transportation logistics or a related certification
Minimum 3 years of dispatch experience in the road transportation sector
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft 365
Experience working with unionized drivers (an asset)
Comfort using transportation management systems (e.g. Magnus, Super Dispatch, MIR)
Ability to quickly learn new technology tools (e.g . Anydesk, Igloohome, mobile tracking systems)
Excellent organizational skills with strong priority management and multitasking abilities
Ability to work under pressure and independently
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data management
Bilingual in French and English , spoken and written, to communicate with drivers and customers
Strong team spirit, customer‐focused mindset, and solution‐oriented attitude
Availability to work flexible hours or outside regular business hours in emergency situations (as needed)
Daily Responsibilities
1. Operations and Logistics Management
Prioritize, clean, and organize the inbox; confirm drivers' hours and ensure follow‐up communications
Plan loads and coordinate driver assignments
Inventory and manufacturer follow‐up:
Keep tracking lists up to date
Manage yard inventory and returns
Process location changes with CN
Organize regular calls with the Québec terminal to manage inventory and deliveries to remote dealerships
1. Fleet and Equipment Maintenance
Review the truck list, check active units, and report any damage or issues identified the previous day
Manage key baskets and ensure availability of safety equipment
Participate in garage meetings to follow up on the mechanical condition of the fleet
1. Documentation and External Coordination
Prepare and sort envelopes for other terminals
Send follow‐up emails regarding replacement trucks and any major operational issues
Produce and submit the daily report to senior management
Perform any other related duties as required
Employment Conditions
Salary: To be discussed based on relevant experience
Schedule: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.; 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
