Personal Counsellors report directly to the Manager of Counselling.RESPONSIBILITIES
Core responsibilities for the position will include:Provision of personal counselling to studentsProvision of outreach services, including workshops, presentations, and information boothsQUALIFICATIONS
A degree at the Masters level, or greater, in Educational Counselling, or related disciplineSpecific expertise and experience in counselling students in post-secondary education is preferredCandidate must have, or be clearly eligible and willing to obtain,



the Counselling Therapist title with the College of Counselling Therapists in PEI (CCTPEI);
similar provincial licensure may be consideredThe ideal candidate will possess a background working with university students in educational development and planningCrisis response training and experience would be valuable to this positionSkills in triage and effective referrals to community resources and managing consultation with medical and psychiatric resources are essentialExperience and comfort working with a diverse student population reflecting the reality of today’s campus, including issues of culture, gender, orientation, and equity are required;
lived experience in these areas would be an assetUPEI encourages all qualified applicants to apply for job openings;
