The City of Surrey has released a notice of hiring eligible applicants for the post of Electrical Safety Manager. Persons who are eligible and willing to join this post can apply for this post. They’re appointed to this post for Leading, mentoring, and coaching team members within the Electrical Permitting Section, including the Electrical Safety Officers. Registration for this post has already started and it will end soon.

Candidates working in this post are required to manage key performance indicators to ensure operational success and service excellence for the Electrical Permitting Section.
Applicants working in this post are also required to identify, create, lead, and implement the Electrical Permit Section’s ongoing process improvements associated with various digital reviews and permitting initiatives.
Candidates are also appointed to this post to assist in the development and implementation of requirements and standards associated with applicable by-laws and codes to be eligible for this post.
They’re also required at this post to involve advising consulting engineers, architects, developers,



contractors, and the public in these matters.
Applicants are required at this post to fulfil the role of the local safety manager under Section 12(2) of the Safety Standards Act to be eligible for this post.
Job requirement
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university, or hold a trade certificate as an electrician to be eligible for this post.
Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible related experience to get preferred for this post.
They must hold an Electrical Safety Officer Certificate of Qualification or be a skilled engineer with Engineers and Geoscientist of BC to be considered as an asset for this post.
Candidates must have directly related experience within the public sector or municipal environment to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
Applicants must have management and supervisory experience in a unionized environment to be preferred for this post.
Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to a wide variety of stakeholders to be considered as an asset for this post.
