Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Create Job AlertReporting to the Manager, Energy and Waste, the Waste Management Analyst is responsible for the coordination of waste collection activities and implementation of waste management policies, programs and public education to support the City's waste reduction and diversion initiatives.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with coordinating and overseeing contracted waste collection servicesDevelop, review and deliver public education to inform residents of waste management program requirementsAssisting with curbside education efforts and customer service complaintsOversee the sales of garbage tags and waste containers including procurement, ordering and inventory management.Lead the development of the annual Waste Calendar, including procurement, design, printing and deliveryComplete regular financial analysis and reporting of all City expenditures related to waste managementFacilitate 3-stream waste diversion in multi-residential buildings by leading resident education events and updating educational materials.Implement and monitor the waste diversion programs in City facilitiesCoordinate and supervise the City's corporate, curbside and multi-residential waste audits, and implement measures to encourage waste reduction and diversionOrganize the City's annual Clean up, Green Up Weeks community litter collection eventCollaborate with the Waste Management Coordinator to prepare staff reports, presentations, working group agendas and minutes,



and respond to waste-related public enquiriesCoordinate the development and implementation of a number of the City's community-based waste diversion programsCoordinate and support the Corporate Single-Use Plastics Reduction policy including education and promotion of the reusable dish library programConduct research, benchmark and analyze data to provide service level recommendations for consideration by the ManagerCoordinate pilot projects and programs to test new waste management approachesIn collaboration with the Waste Management Coordinator, implement Council-approved service levels and manage updates to the City's Waste by-law and enforcement processRespond to and resolve public enquiriesAdminister budget invoicing, tracking and reporting for Waste Management related expendituresEducation and ExperienceDegree in Environmental Studies, Science, Engineering or a related disciplineMasters degree or Graduate Certificate is an asset3 years waste management related experiencePrior experience in a municipal setting is an assetRequired Skills/KnowledgeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in applying the principles of waste managementKnowledge of applicable laws,
