The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of:
TEACHER – PRIMARY / JUNIOR / INTERMEDIATE DIVISIONS
OUR LADY OF FATIMA

Primary/Junior/Intermediate Native-As-A-Second-Language
EffectiveSeptember 2, 2026
Mandatory Requirements:
- Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary, Junior and Intermediate Divisions
- Additional qualification in Native-as-a-Second Language
- Fluency in the Ojibwe language – Nipissing dialect
- Access to a vehicle as travel between schools is required
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of second language teaching and learning concepts
- Understanding of how Indigenous perspectives are integrated throughout the curriculum
- Knowledge of the culture and traditions of First Nations Métis and Inuit Peoples
- Understanding of the Ontario curriculum and experience in implementing a balanced approach to teaching literacy and using student data to drive instruction
- Understanding and proven ability to implement differentiated instruction and the principles of Learning for All and Growing Success
- Strong knowledge and experience employing effective assessment for, as and of learning practices
- Familiarity with the Board community and a willingness to be part of a team approach to teaching and learning
- Flexibility to teach other subjects as required
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Google Meet, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY.
- Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an setting of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
- Understanding and commitment to the implementation of culturally responsive pedagogy and the integration of Indigenous perspectives into instruction
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the development of student individual profiles to support the planning of differentiated instruction for a range of student learning needs
- Commitment to being an active participant on the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties and familiarity with the school environment would be an asset
- Special Education Part 1 would be an asset
- Fluency in the Cree language would be considered an asset
