The Opportunity: Permanent Full-Time Position To Start as Soon as Possible The Ministry of Social Services, Community Living Service Delivery, is seeking a caring and empathetic individualwho ispassionate about supporting and assisting people with intellectual disabilities to live their lives to the fullest and participate as full citizens in communities. As part of this rewarding opportunity, you will support clients as part of the Clinical Crisis Services team. You will implement programs that have been developedby Community Living Service Delivery professionals. Examples include:individual coaching, assisting clients to develop skills, gathering data, updating client profiles and data sheets, team meetings and performing personal care duties as required.As a team player, you will be respectful of the diversity of others and promote a healthy, productive and secure work environment that is free of discrimination.
Please note this position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations. The requirements for this position would be obtained through completion ofone year post-secondary education from a recognized institution with a certificate in an areasuch asDisability Support Worker,Educational Assistant, Therapeutic Recreation and/or any related human service field.Previous experienceworking with intellectually-disabled individuals and implementation of therapeutic programs is considered an asset. This position will require you to spend a minimum of 50% of your work time away from your home office. Overnight stays and a valid driver's license are required. This is a field worker position.
