- Welcoming clientsand consulting with them on their desiredhairstyles

- Conferring withclients to determine their hairdressing needs,preferences, and specifications

- Recommend hairstylesand haircuts according to customers’ face shapes andtastes

- Cutting and trimminghair according to client’s instructions

- Advising clients onsuitable haircuts as well as hairstyles and hair color based ontheir physical features and hair type

- Wash, rinse, and dryclients’ hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners (e.g.for oily hair or dry scalp)

- Styling hair usingchemical solutions and styling tools

- Shampooing,conditioning, and drying clients’ hair

- Apply a wide range ofhair coloring techniques, like highlights, ombre andbalayage

- Shaving, trimming andshaping clients’ beards and mustaches

- Providing varioushair coloring treatments to clients after inquiring intopossible hair dye sensitivities and allergies that theymay have

- Form bonds with loyalcustomers and remember their hairstyle preferences

- Ensuring that combs,scissors, razors, and other instruments are cleaned andsanitized after each use

- Using varioushairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners,curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs, to styleclients’ hair accordingly





- Cross-sell hair careproducts or services, when appropriate

- Providing face, scalpand neck massages

Requirements

- High schooldiploma or GED
- Associate’s degree incosmetology or completion of a state-approved cosmetologyprogram
- Proficiency in hairstraightening and curling methods, using hot irons andcurlers
- The ability to followinstructions
- Hands-on experiencewith various coloring techniques
- The ability to standfor extended periods of time
- Excellentorganizational and time management skills
- Physical stamina tostand for long hours

Terms of employment

- Full Time

- 35 to 40 hours per week

Salary: $17.86 - $27.50 per hour
