What are your contributions to the team? As a Technical Expert, you will act as a key integrator and technical authority, ensuring seamless integration of aircraft structures and systems across the full product lifecycle. You will: 1. Design Integration & Architecture Lead the development of conceptual layouts and integration solutions for structures and systems across the complete airframe. Define and manage interfaces, installation requirements, and system architecture to ensure compatibility and performance. Perform and lead trade studies and optimization activities (weight, cost, performance, manufacturability). 2. Cross-functional Leadership Act as a focal point across multidisciplinary teams: stress, systems, interiors, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, mass properties, manufacturing, and quality. Coordinate technical alignment with partners, suppliers, and other Bombardier engineering teams. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members. 3. Design Development & Industrialization Generate preliminary and detailed design concepts using 3D modeling tools. Support production, manufacturing, and shop floor issue resolution. Ensure robust Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). 4. Certification, Validation & Compliance Support verification & validation (V&V), test definition, and execution. Ensure designs meet airworthiness, safety, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to certification strategy, compliance demonstration, and qualification requirements. 5. Program & Change Management Manage engineering modifications through full lifecycle and configuration control processes. Provide input to impact assessments (technical, cost, schedule, risks).
Track and manage technical risks, dependencies, and design maturity. Provide clear status reporting to project and functional leadership. 6. Continuous Improvement & Digital Engineering Ensure PLM data integrity and configuration management (ENOVIA/Teamcenter). Contribute to process improvements, design standards, and lessons learned. How to thrive in this role? Skills, Knowledge & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in aerospace engineering or related industry. Technical Expertise Aircraft structures and/or systems installation and integration Configuration development, preliminary sizing, and detailed design Design for manufacturing, assembly, and industrialization Materials & processes, GD&T, and aerospace design standards Weight control and optimization Certification requirements (CAR/FAR/CS) and compliance processes Tools & Methods Proficiency in: CATIA V5, ENOVIA, MS Office Knowledge of: NX, Teamcenter (asset) PLM systems and configuration control Operational & Business Acumen Strong understanding of: Aircraft systems operation and interfaces Manufacturing processes and capabilities In-service operation and maintenance constraints (asset) Aircraft interiors integration (asset) Leadership & Soft Skills Demonstrated ability to: Lead technical integration across multiple stakeholders Work in high-pressure, complex program environments Communicate effectively with internal and external partners Solid problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
