Your new prospect might be right here.We are looking for aY1 Apprentice Shop Technicianto join our Service team in Ottawa.What's the challenge?What do we expect from you?What will you find here?SUMMARYThe Apprentice Technician role is for someone who is looking to become a 1st or who is already enrolled as a 2nd year Heavy Equipment Technician (off road). The successful candidate must actively participate in the apprenticeship process, and be dedicated to learning the trade .Expected Salary range (per hour)$22.00 - $26.00 per hourDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo follow all safety processes and procedures, and keep safety as the number one value; Proactive customercontact in order to properly identify machine faults; Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis withmachine to identify fault code; Accurate and timely service report submissions (includes time cards); Accurate ordering of required parts and follow-up to ensure parts are received in order tocomplete the assigned service work; Immediately reporting to your Supervisor possibilities of exceeding the quoted timeline anddescribing newly discovered circumstances and or causes; Performs otherduties as assigned.Responsible for all aspects of assigned tasks, including but not limited to:



improvingoperating efficiencies and overall customer satisfaction through the timely completion ofshop service work, responsible for the return of un-used parts upon the completion of shopservice work; Abide by Nors's safety policies and report all hazardous conditions and unsafe workprocedures; .Performs other duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES:Knowledge of toolsOrganizedWork independently and with other team membersWork outside and in the field when required ; Adequate with handtools, computer tools, torches, welding equipment, air tools etc.Willingness to participate and complete required training initiatives; Capable of operating heavy equipment safely and competentlyLooking to obtain Red seal 421A mechanic licenceEDUCATION/TRAINING:Diploma in heavy equipment/ Post-secondary diploma .Similar work experience, Heavy equipment knowledgeHEALTH AND SAFETYIt is our expectation that all Nors Employees will conduct their work in a safe manner, abide by all Nors safety policies and report all hazardous conditions and unsafe work procedures.
