We are searching for a Temporary Full-Time Recreation Coordinator (12 Month Contract) to join our Parkland Ancaster team based in Ancaster, Ontario.

About The Opportunity

Collaborates with each resident and/or family to assess their engagement of meaningful activities in the six dimensions of wellness- Physical, Social, Intellectual, Vocational, Emotional, and Spiritual

Assists each resident in achieving their goals to enhance their overall wellness and assist with defining strategies for achieving those goals

About You

A diploma or degree in recreation or a related discipline

A passion for creative arts such as music therapy, art therapy, or artistic expression





Minimum two (2) years’ experience in recreation programming and planning for seniors in a health care setting or senior’s living environment

Demonstrates strong knowledge of the 6 dimensions of wellness (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Vocational, Spiritual, Social)

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong computer skills

Possession of a G Driver’s License and clean driver abstract is required

Proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid Certification is required

Current certification from an applicable Food Safety program and Smart Serve is required

Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check , and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check , prior to appointment

Ability to work flexible hours and shifts (including some weekends and evenings)

Previous experience working in retirement living or in an setting with seniors is considered an asset

A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
