Job Summary

The role of the Apprentice machinist is to produce quality parts in accordance with work order requirements and supplied drawings. Must be willing to learn and develop machinist trade skills in both manual and CNC machining.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Production of machined components in accordance with drawing specifications and/or instructions, under the supervision of a journeyman tradesperson.
- Learn and develop machinist trade skills in both manual and CNC machining.




- Perform support tasks for the machine shop to help fulfill work order requirements, such as painting, assembly, and other duties as assigned.
- Comply with the safety requirements at all times before performing a job assignment.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess the following characteristics:

Experience - No experience is required, but manufacturing experience is highly desirable.

Education - High school diploma and willing to enroll in the Manitoba apprenticeship program in the trade of machining.

Skills - Applicant must be able to multitask, have solid drawing interpretation skills, & mechanical aptitude

Attributes - The apprentice must have a great work ethic, be able to listen to instructions, and carry out tasks
