RAISING THE BARRAISE Underwriting is an independently owned, Canadian Managing General Agent (MGA), dedicated to being an industry-leading supplier of risk insurance and surety products through transparency, honesty, and integrity.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Produce and underwrite new and existing contract surety business- Serve as key contact on assigned portfolio of accounts- Qualify customers’ financial, technical, and organizational capacity within RAISE’s appetite against the business opportunity, in accordance with department policies and procedures- Provide detailed recommendations of bond and account support by conducting financial and credit analysis- Make decisions and approve bonds within account or underwriting authority- Negotiate account and/or bond-specific terms and conditions- Monitor current portfolio and assist with peer audits on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines- Build and maintain a network of relationships with brokers and various markets- Stay abreast to industry and market trends- Participate in team meetings to provide updates related to assigned portfolio of accounts, brokers, market intelligence, etc.- Maintaining high levels of service with solutions-orientated approach- Identifying opportunities to upsell products- Contribute to the expansion of the RAISE brand through marketing with existing and new broker partnersEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of four years of contract surety underwriting experience- University degree/college diploma or equivalent experience- High level of customer service and proven success in building and maintaining effective business relationships- Ability to analyze and evaluate contract language- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel- Solid time management and organizational skillsSalary Range $80,000 - $100,000
