- Mix plastersubstances in trough to preferred consistency
- Apply, stage andeasy coats of plaster the use of trowels, floats,brushes and spraying device
- Trowel or spraycoats of stucco over exteriors of homes to shapeweatherproof surfaces
- Finish corners andangles and create ornamental designs in end coat, ifrequired
- Cure freshlyplastered surfaces
- Mould and depletiondecorative plaster panels, cornices and trim
- Spray acousticsubstances or texture end over partitions and ceilings.
- Measure, reduce andmatch drywall sheets for set up on partitions andceilings
- Position and stablesheets to metallic or wood studs or joists
- Cut and depletionmetallic nook beads to guard outside corners

Requirements

- Generally a highschool diploma is required.
- Completion of athree- or four-year apprenticeship in plastering, drywall orturning.




- Usually requires acombination of more than three years of work experience andsome high school, college, or industry plastering, plasteringor turning.
- The plasterer tradecertification is required in Quebec and is available, but notrequired, in Ontario, Saskatchewan and BritishColumbia.
- Professionaldrywall installation and finishing certificates areavailable, but voluntary, in British Columbia.
- Professionalcertification for lathes (furniture mills) is required inQuebec and is available, but not required, in all otherprovinces and the Yukon.
- Red SealCertification is also offered to qualified lathes (interiorsystems mechanics) after passing the intercity Red Sealexam.

Salary: $25.00 -$30.25per hour
