Job Description
- Interpretblueprints, drawings, and measurements forlayout.
- Welding large andsmall components such as copper plumbing, beams andpipes.
- Use specializedmachines for industrial welding and monitor machines that dosimilar work.
- Maintain and repairall machines.
- Evaluate surfaces,structures, and components to be welded to identifydefects.
- Follow and enforcestrict safety rules such as wearing heat-resistant gloves,protective masks, and protective shoes.
- Monitor machinery forproper use and temperature. Solder flat, vertical and overheadcomponents.
- Inspect and inspectwelded surfaces and structures for defects.
- Store the device in acondition that does not compromise safety.
- Repair machines andother parts by welding parts and filling gaps
- Weld parts usingmanual or semi-automatic welding equipment in differentpositions.
Requirements
- High school diplomaor equivalent.
- A valid weldingcertificate from an accredited institution ispreferred.
- Minimum 2 yearsexperience as a welder.
- Excellent knowledgeof welding machines, electrical equipment and handtools.
- Ability to read andinterpret technical documents and drawings.
- Special attention todetail.
- Experience using avariety of welding equipment and processes.
- Experience usingpower or hand tools.
- Knowledge of relativesafety standards and willingness to use protectiveclothing.
- Dexterity andattention to detail.
- Knowledge ofmetallurgy.
- Knowledge of manualand mechanical welding techniques
