What You’ll Be Working On You will work with a range of advanced equipment, including:
Plastic extrusion lines
Vacuum systems
Cooling systems
Rotating machinery used in cable manufacturing
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical production equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance using a CMMS, completing inspections and follow‑up repairs.
Diagnose and resolve issues on electromechanical production machinery to minimize downtime.
Interpret schematics, blueprints, and AutoCAD drawings to support maintenance activities.
Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential failures and prevent breakdowns.
Work collaboratively with the maintenance and engineering teams to support production needs.
Complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and WHMIS guidelines.
Provide occasional light machining (slotting, polishing shafts).
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
What We’re Looking For
433A Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Certificate of Qualification
(Ontario).
Minimum
5 years’ experience
in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong diagnostic skills with both mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to identify electrical issues (checking fuses, tracing faults, isolating failures).
Exposure to
PLC systems
(Allen Bradley preferred, troubleshooting)
Skilled in mechanical assembly/disassembly, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machining.
Ability to use machine shop tools and perform routine machining when required.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings, schematics, blueprints, and sketches.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with CMMS platforms.
Candidates must supply their own general toolbox (specialty tools provided).
