- Transportfinished goods and raw materials over land to andfrom manufacturing plants or retail anddistribution centers
- Followinstructions; locate and read location and roadmaps
- Inspect vehiclesfor mechanical items and safety issues and performpreventative maintenance
- Load and unloadcargo
- Plan routes andmeet delivery schedules
- Pick up goods andmaterials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them asinstructed
- Document and logwork/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retainfuel/toll receipts
- Report road incidentsto the dispatcher
- Responsible forbasic vehicle maintenance; comply with all secure workpractices, policies, and processes at alltimes
- Comply with truckdriving rules and regulations (size, weight, routedesignations, parking and break periods) as well as withcompany policies and procedures
- Maintain a positiveattitude with customers
- Complete and verifypaperwork for accuracy
- Maneuver trucksinto loading or unloadingpositions
Requirements
- High schooldiploma
- Proven workexperience as a Truck Driver
- Traffic laws/ DOTregulations/ driving knowledge
- Hands on experiencewith electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CBetc)
- Must pass drug andalcohol test
- Pallet jackexperience required; forklift experience preferred
- Ability to drivelong hours and travel regularly
- Must have cleandriving record
- Ability to lift 80pounds repeatedly throughout day
- Extensive knowledgeof applicable truck driving rules andregulations
- Adaptability andforesight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weatherconditions etc)
- Listening and verbalcommunication skills

Salary: $25.00 - $32.50per hour
