Become an integral part of Olds College as an Agricultural Research Technician in a full time role. Play a crucial role in conducting applied research with your agricultural expertise.
In this position, you will support the OCCI crops team by assisting in planning and executing rigorous research projects. You'll engage in both outdoor and indoor data collection, manage research data, and contribute to project documentation. This role also includes mentoring students and supporting knowledge transfer in the agricultural community.
Key Responsibilities: • Execute new small-plot research experiments and demos • Support data organization and analysis after research • Operate required agricultural equipment safely • Maintain compliance with research protocols • Attend and document client meetings as necessary
Requirements: • Two or more years of relevant post-secondary education • Two years of field and laboratory experience needed • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required • Pesticide Applicator License needed within 3-5 months • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
