Volunteer Coordinator – Ooks Life Team Start Date – May 2026Contract End – April 30, 2027What is the Ooks Life Team?Every year, NAITSA hires a team of student leaders to help plan and promote events and initiatives for their fellow NAIT students. The Ooks Life Team (OLT) works together to create memorable experiences and a strong sense of campus community.Being part of OLT means you'll grow your skills, meet new people, and make a real impact on campus (all while getting paid to do it)There are several positions on the Ooks Life Team—ranging from Clubs Events and Clubs Finance to Promotions, Volunteer, and Events Coordinators. Each has unique responsibilities, but everyone collaborates to bring campus life to the next level.Note: Interested in more than one OLT position? Please submit a separate application for each.Position SummaryAs a Volunteer Coordinator, you'll bring the "NAITSA Volunteers" program to life—connecting students with opportunities to give back, gain real-world skills, and get involved in the community. You'll network with local non-profits, coordinate volunteers at events, and make sure students are recognized for their efforts through the Volunteer Experience Path on This role is all about connecting people, building community, and helping students make a difference on- and off-campus.What You'll DoThe Volunteer Coordinator role has four main parts:Networking & Relationship Building:Build relationships with non-profit partners, NAIT staff, and instructorsHelp partners keep volunteer postings current and respond to student inquiriesFind current community partners and volunteer opportunitiesLearn what types of volunteer experiences students are most interested inBe a point of contact for partners via phone, email,



and in-personEvent Planning & Volunteer Coordination:Work with non-profit partners to plan and lead collaborative weekly/monthly volunteer eventsCoordinate and supervise student volunteers at NAITSA events and initiativesProvide training and recognition to ensure volunteers feel supported and appreciatedStudent Communications:Promote the value of volunteering through social media, the NAITSA website, and newslettersPlan and host promotions booths and hallway pop-ups on campus to recruit volunteers and promote volunteeringConduct outreach to coordinate and organize non-profits for the bi-annual Volunteer Fair, connecting students with non-profits, and help to lead the two-day eventCreate and share a monthly volunteer newsletterCreate and share the monthly Volunteer Spotlight Blog, connecting with volunteers to spotlight themProvide regular updates to the rest of the team through project updates and marketing plansVolunteer Tracking & Recognition:Assist with the implementation and administration of Vome, our volunteer management platformTrack and record student volunteer hours through Administer the Volunteer Experience Path and recognize participant completionSupport Volunteer Appreciation events each semesterDevelop creative ways to reward volunteersMaintain accurate volunteer records and provide support to NAIT staff using Respond to student inquiries via Hours of Work & Employment TermPart-time, temporary position starting May 2026 and ending April 30, 2027Hours vary month to month (limited in summer; busiest during the academic year)Primarily on campus, with occasional off-campus or remote work as neededQualificationsEnrolled NAIT student for the entire 2026–27 yearMust be available for shifts during peak periods including NAIT Student Orientation, Pancake Breakfast, and Nest FestGreat communicator, both written and verbalReliable and organized; meets deadlinesExcellent attention to detailComfortable with, Microsoft Office,
