**Water Resources Engineer****OUR PURPOSE** Have autonomy and the chance to interact and work with a community of technical experts from other Montrose regions. **Water Resources Engineer,**We are seeking a candidate with a strong, demonstrated foundation in urban stormwater management who is passionate about tackling complex hydrological challenges. This role is ideal for an engineer who has a mind for detailed modeling and analysis, but is also comfortable converting ideas and concepts to detailed design, and can support the full project lifecycle through construction at the intersection of urban drainage, natural systems (like creeks, rivers, and wetlands) that aim to minimize receiving stream/river impactsThe successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of water resources projects for a diverse set of clients with responsibilities that may include:Support river engineering and environmental assessment tasks. Work with regulatory agencies to obtain approvals. **What We Are Looking For**Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Environmental, or Civil Engineering. A graduate degree would be considered an asset.Five or more years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, with a primary focus on urban stormwater management projects and municipal engineering. Demonstrated proficiency in urban stormwater modeling software (e.G., PCSWMM, EPA SWMM, MIKE+, InfoWorks ICM, GeoSTORM) is required. Experience with various other water resources modeling software (i.E., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWAT, HSP-F, EFDC) would be considered an asset.Experience with Python, R,
or VBA for data analysis and model automation would be considered an asset. Experience with design and drafting software such as ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Q-GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D would be an asset.Ability to effectively manage projects of various sizes and complexity simultaneously.Experience in writing technical reports and proposals and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groups. Self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills.Strong ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. to their work every day.
