Position OverviewOur client is a prestigious insurance defence law firm located in the heart of Toronto.Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Defence Lawyer with 2-4 years of experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle a variety complex insurance defence matters as well be in a client-facing capacity.ResponsibilitiesCase Management: Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defence matters, from inception to resolution.Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyze case law, statutes, and regulations, and apply findings to develop sound legal strategies.Client Representation: Advocate on behalf of insurance clients in various forums, including negotiation, mediation, and court proceedings.Drafting: Prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.Discovery: Lead or participate in examinations for discovery, questioning, and other litigation-related processes.Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, provide updates on case progress, and offer strategic legal advice.Trial Preparation: Prepare for and represent clients in court trials,



presenting compelling arguments and cross-examining witnesses effectively.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) Degree: Must possess a JD degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.Experience: A minimum of 2 year of hands‑on experience in insurance defence, with a strong background in handling tort files.Litigation Skills: Proven litigation skills, including a successful track record in advocating for clients in various dispute resolution forums.Legal Research: Excellent legal research and writing abilities, with the capability to analyze complex legal issues.Client-Focused: Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding client service, with solid interpersonal and communication skills.The compensation for this role is $125 000 - $145 000 + Bonus annually.
