We are searching for a Temporary Full-Time Recreation Coordinator (12 Month Contract) to join our Parkland Ancaster team based in Ancaster, Ontario.

About The Opportunity
- Collaborates with each resident and/or family to assess their engagement of meaningful activities in the six dimensions of wellness- Physical, Social, Intellectual, Vocational, Emotional, and Spiritual
- Assists each resident in achieving their goals to enhance their overall wellness and assist with defining strategies for achieving those goals
About You
- A diploma or degree in recreation or a related discipline
- A passion for creative arts such as music therapy, art therapy, or artistic expression
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience in recreation programming and planning for seniors in a health care setting or senior’s living environment
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of the 6 dimensions of wellness (Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Vocational, Spiritual, Social)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong computer skills
- Possession of a G Driver’s License and clean driver abstract is required
- Proof of current, valid CPR and First Aid Certification is required
- Current certification from an applicable Food Safety program and Smart Serve is required
- Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check , and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check , prior to appointment
- Ability to work flexible schedule and shifts (including some weekends and evenings)
- Previous experience working in retirement living or in an environment with seniors is considered an asset
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
