The position of construction labourer/junior carpenter consists of performing tasks involving physical labour on residential and commercial construction sites. It also consists of operating hand and power tools of all types, daily site cleanup and protection and supporting the carpenters & supervisors on site.

Tasks:
Perform general construction duties, including, but not limited to, site demolition, carpentry, general maintenance & repair
Assist carpenters & trades as necessary
Operate hand tools, small power tools, & any related safety equipment
Prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards
Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones
Follow written & verbal instructions
Ensure that all safety hazards and/or concerns are reported to supervisor
Maintain exterior & interior work sites during all stages of construction




Daily clean up & site protection
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:
Willingness to learn and develop skills in a variety of aspects of carpentry
Ability to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and prolonged standing
Must have valid BC Driver’s License and own transportation, work well in a team setting with senior carpenters and project managers
Must Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations
2 years experience preferred
Knowledge of construction principles and techniques is an asset

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
