Engage with youth as a Heritage Interpreter at the City of Richmond. Deliver educational programs and tours while inspiring visitors at historic sites like Britannia Shipyards and the Richmond Museum.
The City of Richmond seeks enthusiastic Heritage Interpreters to facilitate school programs and guided tours. Candidates must possess excellent communication, customer service skills, and a passion for public speaking. You will prepare educational materials and encourage participation while mentoring volunteers and managing cash handling tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver school programs and engaging tours
Prepare educational spaces and materials for activities
Develop hands-on activities for visitors
Provide program evaluations to attending teachers
Mentor volunteers for effective program delivery
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year experience in heritage interpretation
Secondary school completion or equivalent
Solid public speaking skills, particularly with children
Knowledge of Canadian and BC history
Ability to pass a Police Information Check and obtain First Aid certification
Lead and inspire young minds while sharing the cultural heritage of Richmond!
