The Assistant Director is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the programs and services of ABC Child Development Centre. The Assistant Director works together with the families, the staff, the schools, and the relevant community agencies and groups to accomplish objectives and to fulfill responsibilities. The Assistant Director also encourages team building by facilities open communication and positive working relationships.

Qualifications:

-Current first aid/ CPR certification: updated every 3 years
Current criminal record check/ Child Welfare check: updated every 3 years.
Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Supervisor Certification.

Responsibilities/ Duties:
The Assistant Director will support the overall operation of the daycare while working directly in the Out-of-School Care (OSC) room. This role combines leadership and administrative responsibilities with hands-on supervision and care of school-age children. The successful candidate will help support staff, maintain a protected and welcoming environment, communicate with families, assist with programming and daily operations, and ensure the OSC program meets licensing and centre standards.
Policy management:



developing policies and procedures for the overall operations of the program that are in accordance with the program's mission and philosophy, identifying methods/ policies/ procedures which interfere with effective services and making changes to enhance the quality of service; directing staff in implementing and facilitating policies.
Strategic planning: developing programs and services that follow our mission statement; identifying and dealing with any issues affecting the internal or external setting of the centre; setting specific goals and outcomes; setting program and service goals; communicating with the necessary parties to identify the changing needs and conditions of the community that is served by the centre; accounting for the impact of several alternative plans to address changing conditions (i.e changes in funding)
Management: program, personnel, financial, risk analysis, advocacy

Pay: $25.62-$28.62 per hour
