REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER

Temporary Full Time (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Start date: November 02, 2026 - 12 Month Contract with possibility of extension up to 18 months

$33.72-$42.15

Our Social Workers interact with St. Joseph’s Villa (Sudbury) and Villa St. Gabriel Villa (Chelmsford) long term care residents and their representatives to restore, maintain and enhance the residents’ quality of life by optimizing strengths, coping capacities and resiliency. They review applications for residency and liaise with referring agencies to facilitate the admission processes. The Social Workers support residents as they relate to others, address environmental stressors and provide psychosocial education related to wellness and well-being. They work collaboratively with the interprofessional teams to address the social and emotional impact of physical and cognitive impairment, with an emphasis on identifying solutions to issues that interfere with optimal quality of life.

QUALIFICATIONS:




Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university
Active registration and licensure with the Ontario College of Social Workers (Note: applicants with inactive/expired OCOSW registration will not be considered).
At least two years of experience in health care or a related social service agency. Experience in geriatrics preferred.
French Language Service Designation: Bilingualism, English and French, is required. In accordance with its designation under the French Language Services Act, if no bilingual candidates (both internal and external) meet the qualifications of the position, uni lingual English-speaking candidates may be considered.

Pay: $33.87-$39.86 per hour
