Become a Speech Language Pathologist at Vanderhoof and Area Schools from January 2025 to June 2026. This position focuses on teaching students with disabilities and requires reliable transportation for travel.
This maternity leave role is aimed at skilled specialists with a Master's degree or equivalent in speech and language pathology. You'll assess educational needs, design programs for students with autism and other disabilities, and work collaboratively with educational teams while traveling to various schools. Your commitment to evidence-based practices will enhance student learning outcomes across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with staff to design programs for diverse students
• Implement and support communication strategies and tools
• Travel to outlying communities for assessments
• Communicate effectively with parents and agencies
• Assess and evaluate student speech and language needs
Requirements:
• Master’s level training in speech and language pathology
• Membership eligibility with Speech and Audiology Canada
• Experience with AAC devices and program design
• Valid Class 5, B.C. Driver's License
• Robust organizational and time management skills
