As a Peer Support Worker, you will engage with participants aged 50+, fostering hope and independence through shared experiences. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team allows you to tailor support plans that address mental health and social needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect with participants through shared lived experience • Provide daily mentoring and support in various community settings • Facilitate access to resources and services for tenants • Support tenants in maintaining their tenancies • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for cohesive care
Requirements: • 1-2 years in a community role with diverse populations • Experience within the mental health system • Solid understanding of harm reduction principles • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal • Valid Canadian driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred
